INCIDENT REPORT. Giles Pike, forty years keeper of the Wrack Point light, was found dead beneath the great telescope of Hartfell Observatory, the dome cracked open to the sleet. One fact stands settled: the observing room door was bolted from the inside, the bolt thrown home and photographed in place, and the only key to the lower lock lay under the body itself. No one entered that room after the bolt went across. Five sheltered at the observatory that night. One account will not hold.
